Restricted or limited mobility in your lower back can lead to future low back pain.

Studies have proven, if your low back doesn't have a full range of motion, you are setting it up for future injuries.

Bending forward and back (flexion/extension), side bending (lateral bend), and turning side to side (rotation) are the three movements that make up a full range of motion.

You have to use it, or you'll lose it.

Neglecting your lower back and not actively improving and maintaining a full range of motion can cause restrictions, deconditioning and increase your chance of injury.

De-conditioned and Stiff

If your low back is de-conditioned and limited in its mobility, you likely have a combination of core muscles that are too weak and too tight, causing you pain.

If you think of the muscles of your core as an X. The muscles of your lower back and your quads are one line of the x, and your abdominal muscles and hamstrings are the other line.

The problem is, if you are a human being hearing these words, your quads and low back are too tight, and your abs and hamstrings are too weak.

Improving Your Core

When you think of improving your core, if you are like most people you probably think about crunches to strengthen your abs, and that’s true.

But there is more to the story.

Remember that X from last time.

Your Abdominals AND Hamstrings are too weak.

And… your Lower Back muscles and Quadriceps are TOO TIGHT!!!
